Power tie

The pizza-guy messed some Mr.G. Stephanopoulosthe's and girls' pizzas order. But Monica and Phoebe are seemed to be excited about the mistake. And asking the pizza-guy every detail about their neighbor. Monica:

-Was he wearing a stunning blue suit?
Phoebe:
-And a power tie?

So what is that "power tie"? Is it any different from a normal "tie" that men wear?

  4. power tie - Traditionally the power tie is considered by general consensus to usually be of a solid colour, and traditionally worn with a business suit. usually red or blue or both

    1. Got it!

To conclude: power tie is a status thing. The Greek guy wears such plus a suit, that is sure him, the object of obsession for Phoebe and Monica.

They reject the invitation, because Ross had them reserved for that same night earlier. Rachel says that it's not a big deal and leaves. Everyone is upset especially Chandler.
