How is Chandler's reference to Hymn 253: "His Eyes are on the Sparrow" funny? Ross and Rachel just broke up. Rachel invites guys to a free event she has tickets to. They reject the invitation, because Ross had them reserved for that same night earlier. Rachel says that it's not a big deal and leaves. Everyone is upset especially Chandler. He lights up a cigarette even though he wasn't smoking for a year already. Someone knocks on a door and Chandler says: Chandler: That's great. With my luck, that's him. Phoebe: Him? Ross? Chandler: No, Hymn 253: "His Eyes are on the Sparrow." What is that with this hymn?
actually it doesn't have to do anything with the hummus or the chickpea.
ReplyDeleteSee in this episode Monica and Rachel are exchanging roles so that Rachel could fix her foot using Monica's insurance, so when the doctors come for the date they continue the role playing but seconds before this sentence they have a small argument in the kitchen about telling the doctors the truth where at the end Rachel insults Monica and then in front of the doctors they continue insulting each other but they do it in first tense. So when Monica says I'm so spoiled she means I (Rachel) am so spoiled :)
Yeah, it's a complete non sequitur.
