I remember when you were just King Friday in Mr. Roger's Ice Is Nice.

Phoebe is visiting her gay-husband backstage after his performance in Ice Capades show. She is proud of him and comments:

- This is pretty wonderful,
Mr. Major Capades Guy! I remember when you were just King Friday in Mr. Roger's Ice Is Nice.

Who is King Friday? Is that another show's name "Ice Is Nice"?

  1. According to http://www.tv.com/shows/friends/the-one-with-phoebes-husband-372/

Mr. Rogers was a beloved children icon who had a long running show on PBS, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. King Friday was one of the puppets, the ruler of the fantasy kingdom full of puppets; all of whom Mr. Rogers performed.

  2. "Ice is Nice" is a fictional ice show. It sounds like it would be an ice show for little kids, so playing a puppet in a Mr Roger's show would probably be a lower step career-wise than the Ice Capades, which was a very big, well-known ice show.

s03e17 Chandler: No, Hymn 253: "His Eyes are on the Sparrow."

How is Chandler's reference to Hymn 253: "His Eyes are on the Sparrow" funny? Ross and Rachel just broke up. Rachel invites guys to a free event she has tickets to. They reject the invitation, because Ross had them reserved for that same night earlier. Rachel says that it's not a big deal and leaves. Everyone is upset especially Chandler. He lights up a cigarette even though he wasn't smoking for a year already. Someone knocks on a door and Chandler says: Chandler: That's great. With my luck, that's him. Phoebe:  Him? Ross? Chandler:  No, Hymn 253: "His Eyes are on the Sparrow." What is that with this hymn?
