What is Three's Company?
The friends are watching a TV show called Three's Company at Monica's apartment. Some blond girl character in the show says holding up a lacy bra 'looks like she's left not in such a hurry after all'.Chandler: Oh, I think this is the episode of Three's Company where there's some kind of misunderstanding.
What is Three's Company TV show?
Three's Company is an American sitcom television series (1977-1984) about a group of three friends two girls and a guy platonically living in one apartment.
The main twist, that the guy needs to pretend being gay since the landlord doesn't allow mixed-gender people living in one apartment.
The girl character we see on friends' TV is Chrissy Snow, also one of the main characters on that show. Chrissy's so called blonde moments make a solid part of the list for running jokes in Three's Company series. Blonde moments here is a stereotype, part of which says that blondes are less smart than the rest of us.
Three's Company jokes are mostly born out of some sort of misunderstandings. You know the arc - someone is confused, gets upset, the whole thing escalates, blows up and only than everyone finds out about the initial misunderstanding. And since the arc is so common for the Three's Company show it is funny when Chandler helps Phoebe to identify the running episode as the one with misunderstanding.
