Rachel: I had to sing the "Copacabana" to the entire school

Rachel and Ross are at Barry (former Rachel's husband-to-be) and Mindy's wedding. Rachel is a bridesmaid of Mindy today. She has just walked down the isle with her skirt caught in her panties.

Rachel: This is so humiliating. The only thing that tops it is when I was in eight grade and I had to sing the "Copacabana" to the entire school.

Does she imply that "Copacabana" is a bad or not sophisticated enough song?

    maybe wasn't the worst song, but it would be embarrassing to a teenager to sing an "outdated" song in front of the whole school.. that's my guess

      I guess when Rachel was a teenager it was outdated already. Seems like a valid answer than.

    I think the embarrassing thing is that she SANG not the song itself.
