Can i sign you?

Hospital. Ross gives Joey a strong enough push for his wheelchair ride, that he falls. Ross:

- Now you're gonna be in a wheelchair
the rest of your life, pally-wally...
That moment a person which is in wheelchair for a reason comes in. Ross gets embarrassed and says:
- I am so very sorry. Can I sign you?

What is that last "Can i sign you?" line for?

  3. Signing someone's cast is something people typically do to wish them well. If you have a cast, a lot of times you will ask friends and family to sign it. They may write their names and some well-wishes. Ross is making a lame attempt at doing something nice after making a rather heartless statement.

s03e17 Chandler: No, Hymn 253: "His Eyes are on the Sparrow."

How is Chandler's reference to Hymn 253: "His Eyes are on the Sparrow" funny? Ross and Rachel just broke up. Rachel invites guys to a free event she has tickets to. They reject the invitation, because Ross had them reserved for that same night earlier. Rachel says that it's not a big deal and leaves. Everyone is upset especially Chandler.
