That is the episode where David appears for the first time. He retells the conversation he and his friend just have had to Phoebe.

- I was saying you were the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. And he said that Daryl Hannah was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. I said I liked her in Splash, but not Wall Street. I thought she had a hard quality...

What does the "hard quality" expression means?

    Я увидел, что за роль в Wall Street (1987) актриса Daryl Hannah получила Золотую Малину, т.е. ее игра там была действительно очень плоха. Может быть, "hard quality" здесь можно перевести как "перестаралась"?

      It could be that the "hard quality" description for Daryl Hannah came from the "golden raspberry" she got for "Wall Street" movie. But not 100% sure yet.

      hard means: practical, shrewd, or calculating.

s03e17 Chandler: No, Hymn 253: "His Eyes are on the Sparrow."

How is Chandler's reference to Hymn 253: "His Eyes are on the Sparrow" funny? Ross and Rachel just broke up. Rachel invites guys to a free event she has tickets to. They reject the invitation, because Ross had them reserved for that same night earlier. Rachel says that it's not a big deal and leaves. Everyone is upset especially Chandler. He lights up a cigarette even though he wasn't smoking for a year already. Someone knocks on a door and Chandler says: Chandler: That's great. With my luck, that's him. Phoebe:  Him? Ross? Chandler:  No, Hymn 253: "His Eyes are on the Sparrow." What is that with this hymn?
